HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 8-6 in the opening set, the Jimmies rallied for 8 straight points to take a 14-8 lead, and never looked back. The Comets would close the gap to 4 points but Jamestown took 2 of the last 3 for the win.
- Once again playing from behind, UJ used a 7-0 run to go ahead 16-13. Aleah Zieske's kill started a streak of four straight points that cooled any Comet comeback hopes. Jamestown had 17 kills in the set, their most of the match.
- The Jimmies saved their best offensive performance for the third set, hitting a blistering .469 with 16 kills and only 1 error. Leading 9-5, Jamestown rattled off nine in a row to go ahead 18-5, and on the other side of the net, Mayville State suffered through its lowest hitting percentage of the night. The Comets hit zero on 37 attacks, with 7 kills against 7 errors.
- Gracie Adamson and Zieske did the heavy lifting on offense. Adamson posted a season-high 14 kills and hit .393 while Zieske had a double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs.
- Tenley Buddenhagen passed out a match-high 27 assists, one more than the entire Mayville State team, while Lily Bertsch recorded 14 to go along with 5 digs.
- Ellie Holen racked up a match-high 24 digs and Grace Hegerle added 9. Charlee Krieg had 2 solo blocks (4 total) and Lexi Olson had 4 block assists.
