GPAC All-Conference: Kalli Hegerle Player of the Year; Ellie Holen Libero of the Year

Led by GPAC Player of the Year Kalli Hegerle (SR/West Fargo, N.D.) and GPAC Libero of the Year Ellie Holen (JR/LaMoure, N.D.), the second-ranked University of Jamestown volleyball team had seven GPAC all-conference selections as the conference office announced its postseason honors Tuesday.

Jon Hegerle was named GPAC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season as the Jimmies won their fourth straight GPAC postseason championship.

Kalli Hegerle currently leads UJ with a .334 hitting percentage, 683 assists, and is second with 355 kills, 39 service aces, while ranking third in blocks with 72. She recorded nine triple-doubles (kills, assists, and digs) and nine double-doubles (kills and assists). Hegerle set a new career high with her 355 kills (and counting) in 2022.

Holen leads the Jimmies with 708 digs, which is second-most in a single season. She ranks fifth in the NAIA in total digs and is sixth nationally in digs per set (6.27). She had at least nine digs in all 32 matches she played, with 10 digs or more in 30 matches, including a high of 38 against Concordia (Neb.) on October 7.

Anna Holen (SR/LaMoure, N.D.) was a first-team selection, with a team and career-high 373 kills. She also became the first player in Jimmie history to pass 2,000 digs in a career. Her .288 hitting percentage is a new personal best, as are her 51 total blocks.

Darienne Johnson (JR/Eastpointe, Mich.) and Lexi Olson (SO/Langdon, N.D.) were named to the second team. Johnson is second on the team with a .324 hitting percentage, 87 block assists, and 102 total blocks. Her season high of nine blocks came against Midland (Neb.) on October 8 and in the 12 matches since, Johnson has had two or more blocks in each one.

Olson is the team leader in solo blocks with 25, block assists with 102, and total blocks with 127, while ranking third on the team with a .319 hitting percentage. She is one of five Jimmies with at least 200 kills this season (225).

Honorable mention selections were Logan Sherman (JR/Marshall, Minn.) and Aleah Zieske (SO/Spicer, Minn.). Sherman currently has 208 kills to go along with a .234 hitting percentage. On the defensive side, she has 49 total blocks and 49 digs.

Zieske is third on the team with 247 kills, beating her previous best of 232, and also set new personal bests with 39 blocks, 92 digs, and 16 aces.
