SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Jamestown women's golf team faced a challenging field at the Augustana Spring Invitational, held April 6th at Elmwood Golf Course. The Jimmies finished 9th overall in the team race, posting a total score of +120.
Jamestown opened the event with a team score of 345 and carded a 355 in the final round. Concordia-St. Paul took home the team title with a tournament total of +44.
Nelson and Rexin Lead Scoring
Celi Nelson was the top finisher for the Jimmies, earning a tie for 30th place. Nelson remained steady throughout the tournament, recording back-to-back rounds of 83 to finish at +22.
Kacie Rexin also turned in a strong performance, finishing in a tie for 37th place. Rexin opened the tournament with an 82 before carding an 86 in the second round to finish at +24.
Jimmie Scoring Breakdown
The remainder of the Jimmie lineup battled through the two-day event:
Ellie Garavaglia: Finished in a tie for 47th at +30, shooting consecutive rounds of 87.
Lyla McCasson: Placed in a tie for 62nd at +44, highlighted by an 89 in the final round to shave ten strokes off her opening score.
Mya Wimer: Finished 70th overall with a total of +64 (108-100).
