BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The University of Jamestown women's golf team concluded their 2025-26 season this week at the NSIC Women's Golf Championship, finishing 10th overall in a competitive 13-team field. Competing at Adams Pointe Golf Club from April 22–24, the Jimmies posted a three-round team total of +183.
The squad remained remarkably consistent through the first two days of the tournament, opening with a 59-over-par 347 and following up with their best round of the week, a 56-over-par 344, in the second round. Wayne State (NE) captured the team title with a tournament total of +62. The individual leader was Wayne State (NE) Gaia who posted a +8.
Nelson Paces Jimmies with Top 20 Finish
Celi Nelson delivered the standout performance for the Jimmies, securing a tie for 18th place individually. Nelson surged into the top 20 during the second round, carding a tournament-best 74 (+2). She finished the 54-hole championship with a total of +23.
Following her was Kacie Rexin, who finished in a tie for 31st place. Rexin remained steady throughout the week, posting rounds of 80 and 82 before finishing the championship at +33.
Championship Scoring Breakdown
The Jimmies utilized a deep scoring roster to finalize their team standing in the season finale:
Ellie Garavaglia: Finished in 49th place with a total of +54. Garavaglia showed grit on the final day, bouncing back to fire a 13-over-par 85, which matched her best round of the week.
Mya Wimer: Claimed 61st place with a three-round total of +81.
Lyla McCasson: Finished 62nd overall. McCasson's tournament was highlighted by a strong second-round performance where she carded a 93 (+21), shaving 15 strokes off her opening round score.
This championship marks the final event of the season for the Jimmie women as they complete their first full cycle of competition in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
