MITCHELL, S.D. – The University of Jamestown women's golf team delivered a strong performance at Lakeview Municipal Golf Course this week, securing 2nd place at the 2026 DWU Spring Invitational. The Jimmies finished the three-round event with a team total of +158, showing steady improvement each day by dropping their score from an opening +61 to a tournament-best +42 in the final round.
Jamestown's performance allowed them to edge out host Dakota Wesleyan by a single stroke for the runner-up spot. Dickinson State claimed the team title with a score of +109.
Celi Nelson: Finished in 4th place overall with a total of +21. Nelson surged up the leaderboard in the final round, carding a tournament-best 2-over-par 74.
Kacie Rexin: Secured 5th place at +24. Rexin remained consistent throughout the week and finished strong with a final-round 4-over-par 76.
Jimmie Scoring Breakdown
Ellie Garavaglia: Finished 14th with a total of +47. Garavaglia posted back-to-back rounds of +13 to close out the invitational.
Mya Wimer: Claimed 17th place with a total of +74.
Lyla McCasson: Finished 22nd at +101, highlighted by a significant final-round improvement where she carded a +23, shaving 15 strokes off her second-round score.
