HENDERSON, Nev. – The University of Jamestown women's golf team wrapped up their trip at The Legacy Golf Club, securing a 10th place finish at the Las Vegas Warrior Womens Invitational. Despite testing desert conditions, the Jimmies showed significant grit, posting their best team score of the tournament during the second round to finish with a three-day total of +247.
Performance Highlights
Celi Nelson led the way for Jamestown, putting together a performance to finish 14th overall. Nelson was the model of consistency, opening with an 8-over-par round and following it up with a tournament-best +5 in the second frame to finish at +25 for the week.
Other team contributors included:
Ellie Garavaglia carded consistent rounds of 18, 17, and 17 to finish in 44th place at +52.
Kacie Rexin finished 46th at +55, highlighted by a strong final-round 84 (+12) that saw her jump three spots on the leaderboard.
Lyla McCasson rounded out the Jimmie lineup, battling through the three-day event to finish at +115.
UBC Okanagan took home the team title with a score of +55, while their own Julia Alexander Carew claimed individual medalist honors at 1-over-par.

The Jimmies squad will return to action on April 6-7 for the Augustana Spring Invitational. The event will be held at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D.
