ABERDEEN, S.D. – The University of Jamestown men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Dewey Donat Classic, held April 17–18 at Northern State University.
On the men's side,
On the track, Jordan Kellogg-Schmidt led the Jimmies in the sprints with a ninth-place finish in the 100 meters (10.85).
In the 400 meters, Cael Church placed seventh (51.20) and later added an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (59.71).
In the middle-distance events, Noah Sayler highlighted the meet with a first-place finish in the 800 meters (1:58.04). Adam Sobolik followed with a sixth-place finish (2:01.39), while David Ralios placed 10th (2:02.50). Additional finishes included Kadin Marshall (11th, 2:06.26), Samuel Sampers (14th, 2:07.23), Landon Thompson (17th, 2:08.14), Payton Mukkada (18th, 2:08.59), Lucas Dahl (21st, 2:14.34), and Logan Robben (24th, 2:21.87).
In the field events, Liam Horner led the way in the high jump with a fifth-place finish (1.85 meters), followed by Riley Johnson in sixth (1.80 meters) and Joseph Bird in seventh (1.70 meters).
In the throws, Evan Schmit delivered a strong performance with a second-place finish in the shot put (15.51 meters). Schmit also placed eighth in the discus (42.03 meters) and added another runner-up finish in the hammer throw (48.58 meters).
Kobe Irmen placed second in the discus (46.84 meters) and sixth in the hammer throw (44.04 meters).
In the javelin, Gunnar Majerus continued his strong season with a third-place finish (52.30 meters).
On the women's side,
In the field events, Makenzie Gibson led the Jimmies with a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw (45.01 meters) and also placed 17th in the discus (34.38 meters).
Cambrie Fischer turned in one of the top performances of the meet with a second-place finish in the javelin (41.25 meters).
In the shot put, Koiline Govergo placed 18th (10.03 meters), followed by Jecelyn Arends in 19th (9.89 meters).
Govergo also competed in the discus, finishing 23rd (26.18 meters).
Arends added an 18th-place finish in the hammer throw (33.26 meters).

The Jimmies are still competing in at the Phil Esten Challenge and Bryan Clay Invitational, but will return to the track April 22 in Minneapolis, MN at the Gary Wilson Invitational.
