BISMARCK, N.D. — The University of Jamestown men's track & field team delivered a strong all-around performance Saturday at the Marauders Tune-Up, hosted by the University of Mary, continuing to build momentum as the indoor season nears championship competition.
Jamestown showcased event wins, podium finishes, and impressive depth across both track and field events, highlighted by multiple first-place performances and a dominant showing in the 400 meters.
On the track, Xander Rath advanced to the finals of the 60 meters after clocking (7.19) in preliminaries before finishing fifth overall (7.23). Freshman Tristan Huse also competed in the event, recording a prelim time of (7.21) as the Jimmies continued to fine-tune their sprint group.
The 200 meters displayed Jamestown's depth and competitiveness. Avery Ligon led the Jimmies with a fourth-place finish (23.16), followed by Jordan Kellogg-Schmidt in fifth (23.33) and Tristan Huse in sixth (23.44). Xander Rath added a (23.45) performance, while Conrad Baard crossed the line in (23.73), giving Jamestown five strong finishes in the event.
The Jimmies dominated the 400 meters, claiming the top two podium spots. Freshman Landon Moser captured the event title with a winning time of (51.85), while senior Cael Church secured second place in (52.06), sealing an impressive 1–2 finish for Jamestown.
In the 60 meter hurdles, freshman Andrew Rexin delivered one of the meet's standout performances, taking first place in (9.22) to add another event victory to the Jimmies total.
Jamestown also found success in the field events. In the pole vault, Brady Crabtree cleared (4.35m) to win the event, navigating the bar progression confidently to secure the top spot.
In the high jump, Liam Horner placed third after clearing (1.90m), while Riley Johnson matched that height to take fourth (1.90m). Joseph Bird added a clearance of (1.65m), contributing to a solid team showing in the event.
The Jimmies continued their strong day in the long jump, where Jayden Bittner finished second with a mark of (6.64m). Matthew Hoppe followed in fourth (6.53m), and Trevor Waldo placed sixth (6.21m), rounding out multiple scoring finishes.
In the throws, Evan Schmit earned second place in the shot put with a top mark of (14.76m), while Ethan Halverson finished fourth (13.63m). Kobe Irmen recorded a mark of (13.16m). Irmen also placed fourth in the weight throw (14.42m), with Schmit adding a fifth-place finish (14.02m).
With confidence building, the Jimmies shift their attention to the NSIC Indoor Championships, taking place February 27–28 in Mankato, Minnesota.
