BROOKINGS, S.D. — The University of Jamestown men's track & field team competed over two days at the SDSU Indoor Classic, held February 13–14 inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, South Dakota.
On the track, the Jimmies saw strong performances across the middle and distance events. Landon Moser led the way in the 400m, clocking a season-best 50.57. In the 600m, Cael Church posted a solid 1:26.02. The 800m featured a deep Jamestown showing, highlighted by Adam Sobolik (2:00.58), with David Ralios (2:02.40), Lucas Dahl (2:04.44), and Samuel Sampers (2:04.70) also competing across multiple sections.
Sobolik continued his weekend in the 1000m, finishing in 2:41.19, followed closely by Sampers (2:43.73) and Dahl (2:45.41). In the mile, Ralios led the Jimmies with a 4:36.20 performance, while Clark Lortscher followed in 4:38.10.
The distance crew capped off the meet in the 5,000m, where Aaron Devine paced the team with a 15:38.24 finish. Noah Sayler (15:43.69), Cole Campbell (15:48.80), Braeden Kinzler (15:49.07), and Lortscher (16:24.73) rounded out a strong group effort for Jamestown.
In the field events, Ethan Duval delivered a standout performance in the high jump, clearing 2.00m (6'6.75"). The long jump group was led by Ashton Judge, who recorded a best mark of 6.86m, while Matthew Hoppe (6.41m), Trevor Waldo (6.23m), and Jayden Bittner (6.15m) also contributed solid jumps. Bittner added a mark of 11.93m in the triple jump.
In the throws, Jobe Rystedt and Evan Schmit both recorded throws of 14.95m in the shot put. Schmit also led the Jimmies in the weight throw with a mark of 14.44m, while Kobe Irmen added a throw of 13.85m.
The Jimmies continue to build momentum as they progress through the indoor season, using the SDSU Indoor Classic as another strong step forward against a competitive field.
