Track and field has five champions, 18 all-conference performance at NSAAs

DICKINSON, N.D.—The University of Jamestown track and field team came away with five individual conference champions, 18 All-Conference performers, three NAIA national qualifiers, and a pair of new school records as the North Star Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships concluded Friday afternoon at Biesiot Activities Center.

The Jimmie men were third in the team standings with 143.5 points, and the Jimmie women tied for third with 100 points.

Dawson Sedivec won the hammer throw with a mark of 59.70 meters (195 feet, 10 inches), beating his own school record, and currently has the fourth-best throw in the NAIA. Sedivec also took second in the discus (45.73 meters; 150 feet, 0 inches) and shared NSAA Field Athlete of the Year honors with Kohbe Smith of Dickinson State.

Ashton Judge took first in the long jump with a mark of 7.32 meters (24 feet, ¼ inches) and also qualified for the NAIA Natonal Outdoor Championships, which will be held May 21-23 in Marion, Ind.

Cole Campbell set a personal best in winning the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 9 minutes, 48.32 seconds.

Ethan Duval won the high jump with a new personal mark of 1.96 meters (6 feet, 5 inches).

Tyler Dean placed first in the discus, throwing 47.72 meters (156 feet, 7 inches) for a new personal best.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Connor Knatterud, Xander Rath, Cael Church, and Avery Ligon took second with a time of 42.39 seconds.

Lucas Dahl, Samuel Sampers, Kadin Marshall, and Cole Campbell teamed to place third in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 8:16.21.

Riley Johnson placed third in the high jump, clearing a personal-best height of 1.91 meters (6 feet, 3 ¼ inches).

Paige Erhardt qualified for nationals in the high jump while setting a new personal record of 1.66 meters (5 feet, 5 ¼ inches) and took third place. She also finished third in the 100 meter hurdles (15.52 seconds).

Lilly Petty (3000 meter steeplechase) placed third with a time of 12:20.64.

Kirsten Vander Kooi came in third place in the 5000 meters (19:38.95).

Jennifer Tallackson finished the 10,000 meters in 43:28.85 for third place.

Cambrie Fischer claimed third place in the javelin with a top mark of 37.04 meters (121 feet, 6 inches).

Ruth Harris (pole vault) cleared a height of 3.20 meters (10 feet, 6 inches) for third place in the pole vault.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Sara Bonn, Cambrie Fischer, Paige Erhardt, and Monica Goven were third in a time of 51.85 seconds.

The 4x800 meter relay team of Lilly Petty, Allyson Goodmanson, Jennifer Tallackson, and Kirsten Vander Kooi finished third in a time of 11:57.82.
