Men's track and field takes fifth at UND Indoor Open

Grand Forks, N.D. – The University of Jamestown men's track and field team competed at the UND Indoor Open on Saturday. The men scored 42 points to place them in fifth overall.
FOR THE JIMMIES

Avery Ligon earned two points with his seventh-place finish in the 60-meter dash. He recorded a personal best time of 7.13.
Dylan Frusciante added four points with his fifth-place finish and time of 9.27 in the 60-meter hurdles.
Cael Church also earned four points, finishing fifth in the 300-meters with a time of 37.22. He also competed in the long jump and jumped 5.90m.
Cole Campbell placed third in the 3000 meters with a personal best time of 9:03.92 and earned six points.
Tyler Dean placed fourth in the discus with a distance of 43.69m, scoring five points.
Samuel Reiland placed sixth in the discus with a distance of 42.62m, scoring three points.
Kobe Irmen placed eighth in the discus with a distance of 39.28m, scoring one point. He threw 12.22m in the weight throw.
Shane Schnurr, Evan Schmit, Ethan Halverson, and Victor Ramos also competed in the discus and threw distances of 37.67m, 36.60m, 36.00m, and 35.21m, respectively.
Riley Johnson and Ethan Lieb jumped 1.75m and 1.70m in the high jump.
Evan Schmit threw a personal best of 14.10m in the shot put to place him in fifth and earn five points. He threw 11.32m in the weight throw.
Dawson Sedivec placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 13.96m to earn four points. He also earned eighth points in the weight throw with 16.27m and a third-place finish.
Ethan Halverson added a point in the shot put with an eighth-place finish and throw of 13.07m. He threw 12.23m in the weight throw.
Tyler Dean, Kobe Irmen, and Cael Church threw distances of 12.70m, 12.26m, and 10.96m, respectively, in the shot put.
Victor Ramos added three points with a throw of 15.69m and a sixth-place finish in the weight throw.
Jobe Rystedt and Dilon Filler threw distances of 10.88m and 10.60m in the weight throw, respectively.

PERSONAL BESTS

Avery Ligon – 7.13 in the 60-meter, 23.45 in the 200-meters.
Cole Campbell – 9:03.92 in the 3000-meters.
Evan Schmit – 14.10m in the shot put.

The men are at the Bison Open in Fargo, North Dakota, on February 7^th and 8^th.
