Ten men earn points, five set personal bests at NSAA Indoor Championships

Brookings, S.D. – The University of Jamestown men's track and field team competed at the NSAA Indoor Championships on Sunday. Ten men placed to earn points in their events, and five had personal bests. 

FOR THE JIMMIES – TRACK EVENTS
  • Avery Ligon placed sixth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.20 to earn three team points. Xander Rath and Conner Knatterud also competed in the 60 meters and finished with a 7.28 and 7.36, respectively. 
  • Dylan Frusciante placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.25 to add one team point. 
  • Lucas Dahl placed third in the mile with a personal best of 4:31.40 to earn six points. He also competed in the 3000 meters and ran a 9:26.33.
  • Cole Campbell placed fourth in the 3000 meters with a 9:06.52 and sixth in the 5000-meter with a personal best of 15:42.84, good for eight total points.
  • Rath, Knatterud, Ligon, and Cael Church ran 23.38, 23.53, 23.67, and 24.17 in the 200 meters. Rath and Knatterud's times were personal bests.
  • Church also competed in the 400 meters and finished with a time of 52.54. 
FOR THE JIMMIES – FIELD EVENTS
  • Ethan Duval jumped 1.88m in the high jump, good for fifth place and four points, and Riley Johnson tied for seventh at 1.78m to add 1.5 points. Frusciante and Ethan Lieb also competed and marked 1.73m and 1.68m respectively. 
  • Ashton Judge placed second in the long jump with a mark of 6.46m to earn eight points. Kaden Jensen tied for eighth with a 6.26m mark to add 0.5 points. Trevor Waldo also competed and jumped 6.05m. 
  • Dawson Sedivec placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 18.35m, good for eight points. Victor Ramos followed in fifth with a throw of 16.34m to add 3.5 points.
  • Kobe Irmen, Dilon Filler, and Evan Schmit also competed in the weight throw and marked 11.86m, 11.78m, and 11.78m, respectively. Filler's throw was a personal best.
  • Evan Schmit, Tyler Dean, Ethan Halverson, Jobe Rystedt, Dawson Sedivec, and Sam Reiland all competed in the Shot Put. Schmit led with a distance of 13.92, Dean threw 13.90m, Halverson threw 13.88m, Rystedt threw 13.66m, Sedivec threw 13.62m, and Reiland threw 12.99m. 
 
  • Cael Church represented the Jimmies in the heptathlon and placed seventh with 3,717 points. He ran a 7.77 in the 60 meters, marked 5.68m in the long jump, threw 10.44m in the shot put, jumped 1.74m in the high jump, ran a 10.10 in the 60-meter hurdles, marked a personal best of 3.05m in the pole vault, and ran a 3:07.83 in the 1000 meters.
