Jimmies compete at Bison Open, Campbell sets new meet record

Fargo, N.D. – The University of Jamestown men's track and field team competed at the Bison Open on Friday and Saturday. Cole Campbell placed first in the 5000 meters and set a new meet record with a personal best time of 15:46.30, beating the previous record by 10 seconds. Five Jimmies placed in the top 10 in their events, and six recorded personal/season bests.
FOR THE JIMMIES – TRACK EVENTS
  • Dylan Frusciante placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.97 to earn two team points. 
  • Avery Ligon ran a 7.25 in the 60 meters and a 23.82 in the 200 meters. Xander Rath ran a 7.32 in the 60 meters, and Connor Knatterud ran a 7.45 in the 60 meters and a 23.60 in the 200 meters.
FOR THE JIMMIES – FIELD EVENTS
  • Ethan Duval placed ninth in the high jump with a height of 1.88m.
  • Ashton Judge placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 6.74m to earn two team points.
  • Dawson Sedivec placed sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 16.27m, good for three team points. 
  • Victor Ramos threw a distance of 15.32m in the weight throw, Sam Reiland threw 14.50m, Evan Schmit threw 12.34m, Dilon Filler threw 11.37m, Ethan Halverson threw 11.16m, Kobe Irmen threw 10.68m, and Jobe Rystedt threw 10.52. 
  • Evan Schmit led in shot put with a personal best 14.48m. Sedivec marked 13.81m, Halverson marked 13.77m, Tyler Dean marked 13.31m, Reiland marked 13.10m, Rystedt marked 12.44m, and Irmen marked 12.06m. 
 
  • Cael Church competed in the Heptathlon and placed 10th. He competed in the 60-meter, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60-meter hurdles, pole vault, and the 1000m. His results were 7.77, 5.68m, 10.44m, 1.74m, 10.10, 3.05m, and 3:10.70, respectively. 
PERSONAL BESTS UP NEXT
  • The men compete at the NSAA Indoor Championships in Brookings, South Dakota, on February 16.
