HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set One (25-14)
Jamestown hit .452 as a team while scoring 17 of their 25 points on kills to start Saturday's match against the Bobcats. Meanwhile, UC Merced finished with five kills and six errors on 28 attempts for a (-.036) percentage. After Caydann Cox smashed a ball to the floor to give the Jimmies a 6-4 lead, he went to the service line for three straight Jimmie points that helped build a 9-4 cushion. The Bobcats would get as close as 14-9 midway through the set, but six in a row for UJ propelled the team to a 1-0 match lead.
- Set Two (25-15)
UC Merced led 6-5 early in the second set but fell victim to another big UJ run. Holding on to a slim 10-9 lead, the Jimmies scored five straight and 10 of the next 12 as the lead ballooned to nine points. The Bobcats closed within six at 20-14, only to have Jamestown finish the set with five of the final six points. As in the first set, the Jimmies did most of their damage on offense, hitting a robust .385 with 14 kills.
- Set Three (25-20)
In the closest set of the match, Jamestown hit its lowest percentage (.176) but still managed to rack up 14 kills. Defensively, UJ took advantage of five Bobcat attack errors, as well as five serving errors to complete the sweep. The Jimmies took a 7-1 lead and from that point on, never maintained less than a four-point edge.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set One (25-20)
The final match of the weekend began with a highly-contested first set that featured nine ties and ten lead changes. Swiderski's kill tied the match at 18, then a setting error by Campbellsville put the Jimmies in the lead for good at 19-18. UJ closed out the set by winning six of the final eight points.
- Set Two (21-25)
Jamestown was in the driver's set for the main portion of the second set, eventually taking a 12-8 lead after a Tiger attack error. A 4-0 run by the visitors keyed a momentum shift, giving Campbellsville a 17-15 edge, and UJ could only manage to tie score at 17 following kills by Swiderski and Caylor Cox. The Tigers claimed seven of the last 11 points to even the match going into the third set.
- Set Three (24-26)
After Campbellsville went in front 12-9 in the third set, the Jimmies played from behind and found themselves down 19-15 after an ace by the Tigers. A kill from Swiderski sparked a 5-0 stretch that briefly put UJ ahead, then the teams went back and forth with points. Eventually Jamestown had Campbellsville on the ropes at 24-22, but the Tigers took the next four points to win the set.
- Set Four (25-14)
Faced with losing for the first time at Harold Newman Arena in the program's fifth season, the Jimmies forced a fifth set by posting their best statistical numbers of the match. Sixteen kills with just two errors on 26 attempts produced a .538 team hitting percentage, and the only deficit UJ faced was at 2-1. Jennings tied the score with a kill, then four more points put Jamestown in the lead for good. The Tigers managed to hit just .115 for the set, with nine kills against six errors.
- Set Five (15-13)
The third five-set match at home in school history began with Jamestown taking the early 4-2 lead, and the Tigers then going ahead 5-4 with a mini-run of their own. Trailing 7-6, the Jimmies looked to have the set in hand after taking four straight to build a 10-7 lead, but Campbellsville came alive with three of their own to even the score. Caylor Cox bookended a solo block with a pair of kills, and just as fast UJ's earlier three-point lead went away, it reappeared. Swiderski and Myers teamed up for a combo block to put the Jimmies at match point (14-12), but a service error kept the Tigers around for another point. On the next serve, Jamestown got a kill from Jennings to win the match, keeping UJ's 2024 seven-match and 31-home match winning streak intact.
