HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jamestown opened the game with a pair of baskets and the 4-0 lead was the largest for either team in the opening quarter. Jayden Wiest's layup made it 9-9 with 2:30 in the first, then Jessika Lofstrom knocked down a three-pointer to give UJ a 12-9 lead after one.
- The Argos outscored the Jimmies 21-14 in the second quarter and took a 30-26 edge into halftime. Kate Cordes made a three-pointer that gave Jamestown a 15-11 lead early in the quarter, but Providence scored 10 of the next 12 points and UJ had to play from behind the rest of the half.
- A pair of free throws by Megan Oswald and another three from Cordes put the Jimmies back in front (31-30) just over 90 seconds into the third.
- Hannah Hagel scored to tie the game at 38 with 4:28 remaining, but that would be the final points for Jamestown in the quarter. UJ missed their final eight shots, but the Argos only outscored the Jimmies 6-0 over that span, taking just a six-point lead into the fourth.
- Samantha Paulsen's free throw broke UJ's nearly five-minute scoring drought, and Jamestown trailed by only five with 9:32 in the game.
- An 8-0 run by Providence put the Jimmies down by 13, and the next Jamestown points did not come until Kate Busek's three-pointer with 6:17 left.
- Cordes had the final 14 UJ points, including a three-pointer that brought the Jimmies within 60-54 at the 1:50 mark.
- Cordes tied her career high with 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her second career double-double.
- Hagel was the other UJ player in double figures, finishing with 11 points.
- Busek had 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
