The University of Jamestown is mourning the loss of graduate assistant coach Koleman Lind, who passed away following a car accident.
 
Koleman was a student in the University's Master of Arts in Leadership program and served for two years as the graduate assistant for the Jimmie Women's Basketball team and also lead the JV program. During his time at UJ, he was known for his dedication, positivity, and genuine care for those around him.
 
"In Koleman's two years on the Jimmie Women's Basketball coaching staff, he served as a valuable part of our team and an active member in the Jamestown community," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Thad Sankey. "Koleman's dedication, care and positivity impacted our players and coaching staff. He leaves a lasting memory on our team, and we are thankful for all he has given us."
 
"Koleman was a valued member of the Jimmie family," said Director of Athletics Brian Mistro. "His impact extended far beyond the basketball court. We grieve alongside his family, friends, teammates, classmates, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time."
 
The University of Jamestown extends its deepest condolences to Koleman's family and loved ones. Counseling resources are available for students and employees through the University, and the campus community is encouraged to continue supporting one another in the days ahead.
 
Memorial service information will be shared with the campus community as it becomes available and as the family wishes.
