Box Score TUCSON, Ariz.-- Samarah Martinez and Sunny Halsey each had three hits as the Jimmie softball team recorded 14 hits overall in a 6-1 win over York (Neb.) Tuesday morning at the Tucson Invitational Games.
Leading 3-1 in going into the top of the fifth, Trinity Gregg had a two-run triple and Maddie Spaeth followed with a run-scoring single as the Jimmies built a five-run lead.
Abby Blair (3-2) gave up one run on five hits, striking out two while going the distance. She crossed the plate in the second for UJ's first run, and was helped out by an RBI single by Camryn Schwab in the third and and RBI double by Martinez in the fourth.
Spaeth and Sidnie Aasen each rapped out a pair of hits and Halsey also doubled.
Jamestown (7-7) stays in Tucson to face Dickinson State at 10 a.m. and Park University-Gilbert at 12 p.m. Wednesday.
