JAMESTOWN-- The Jimmie softball team, fresh off last weekend's 4-1 record at the Presentation (S.D.) College Dome Tournament, return to Aberdeen, S.D., for a pair of doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday, Jamestown faces Presentation College at 12:00 p.m., then finishes the day with a 4:00 p.m. game against York (Neb.) College.
Sunday sees the Jimmies try to avenge their only loss of the season as they square off against long-time rival Valley City State (N.D.) University at 10:00 a.m. At 4:00 p.m., UJ will play Mount Marty (S.D.) College to wrap up the weekend.
Emma Keller (SR/Poulsbo, WA) and Mikayla Frost (SO/Melba, ID) led the Jimmie offensive attack last weekend. Keller finished with 10 hits in 18 at bats, including a home run and 7 RBI, while Frost hit .563 with nine hits, a home run, and a pair of stolen bases. Kassi Ward (FR/Olympia, WA), Morgan Geiszler (FR/Horace, ND), and Meghan Ramage (JR/Grand Forks, ND) all batted .400 with 10 or more at-bats.
Brittany Rheault (SR/West Fargo, ND) (1-1, 1.91 ERA) combined with Toree Rensmon (SO/Helena, MT) to no-hit Presentation in the season opener. Ann-Marie Crandlemire (FR/Sicamous, BC) was 2-0 and struck out 8 in her 6 1/3 innings of work, and Jasmine Pipella (FR/Boissevain, MB) recorded two saves in her three outings.
