University of Jamestown head coach Dean Stork announces the signing of Alex Orth of Abbotsford, British Columbia, who will join the Jimmies in the fall of 2016.
Orth, a 6' 4", 180 pound goaltender, played the 2015-16 with the Nanaimo Buccaneers of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League. He posted a 15-18-0 record with a 3.27 goals against average in 36 games. Orth recorded a save percentage of .886 in 2000 minutes played.
"Alex is a big, tall, and lanky blocking goalie," said Stork. "He reads the play extremely well and is a brilliant student in the classroom. We are glad he chose the University of Jamestown and are excited to welcome him to the Jimmie family."
University of Jamestown was established in 1883 and is ranked as a top regional school in both US News and World Report and The Princeton Review. The school features development of the whole person through its distinctive Journey to Success experience.
