MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo.– The eighth-ranked ACHA Division 1 University of Jamestown men's hockey team fell 5-0 to No. 9 Adrian College on Saturday evening at the ACHA National Championships, as an early deficit and penalty trouble hampered the Jimmies' efforts.

Adrian College controlled the pace early and never relinquished the momentum, backed by a 25-save shutout performance from goaltender Peyton Trzaska.

The Bulldogs jumped on the Jimmies right out of the gate, scoring twice in the opening five minutes. Keegan Decaluwe netted the first goal at the 3:04 mark of the first period, assisted by Blake Wideman and Cale Strasky.

Less than two minutes later, at 4:54, Hunter Allen extended the Bulldogs' lead to 2-0 with an insurance marker set up by Dylan Gajewski and Strasky.
The second period started similarly to the first. Just 1:14 into the middle frame, Sebastian Smith found the back of the net off feeds from Hunter Allen and Ethan Mclaughlin, pushing the Adrian advantage to 3-0.

Despite generating chances—tallying 25 shots on goal for the game—Jamestown could not solve Trzaska.

In the final period, Adrian put the game out of reach. Wideman scored at 14:14 to make it 4-0. After the Jimmies pulled goaltender Brandon Weare late in an attempt to spark the offense, Cale Strasky capped off a three-point night by depositing an empty-net goal at 15:22.
