FORT WORTH, Texas-- University of Jamestown women's wrestling head coach Shauna Kemp will compete for a spot on the 2021 U.S. Olympic women's wrestling team as the U.S. Olympic Team Trials begin Friday at Dickies Arena.
Kemp will be wrestling in the 57 kilogram (125 pound) weight class. Winners of each weight class will represent the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, August 1-7, 2021.
The winner of the 57 kg bracket will wrestle Helen Maroulis in a best-of-three final. Maroulis was the first American women to win an Olympic wrestling medal at the Rio Games, had a short retirement due to concussions that did not allow her to compete. She returned in 2020 to qualify for the U.S. Olympic quota spot before last year's trials were postponed.
Kemp, representing Titan Mercury Wrestling Club, is the seventh seed in the bracket and will face No. 10 seed Lauren Louive of New York Athletic Club. Louive was the true second at the Last Chance Olympic Trials Qualifier last weekend.

Every match of the U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials will air live on NBC Sports and Peacock.
