The University of Jamestown's
Julie van Zeijl was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Freshman of the Year Tuesday as the conference office announced its postseason awards.
Julie went 10-1 at No. 1 singles this season, including a 9-1 mark in NSIC play, and was also named to the NSIC First Team All-Conference for singles.
Joining van Zeijl as a first-team singles all-conference selection was
Bodil van Zeijl. Bodil finished 9-2 at No.2 singles, including a record of 8-2 in the conference.Â
Julie and Bodil were also chosen First Team All-Conference for doubles. The duo was a perfect 11-0 overall and 10-0 in the NSIC at No. 1 doubles.Â
UJ finished fifth in the conference standings with a 6-4 record, including wins in their three final matches.
