JAMESTOWN, N.D. – After a scoreless opening period, the 10
th-ranked University of Jamestown ACHA Division 1 women's hockey team unleashed a torrent of offense in the second frame, powering their way to a commanding 10-1 victory over the University of Minnesota on Saturday afternoon at John L. Wilson Arena.

Despite a quiet first period, the Jimmies found their stride immediately in the second, scoring six times to blow the game open.
Emma Durand started the scoring barrage at 2:13, netting her seventh of the season off assists from
Chloe Gauthier and
Bethany Wielgosh. Less than two minutes later,
Kiara Perrett doubled the lead at 4:10, assisted by
Samantha Beaulac.
The goals continued to come quickly.
Alivia Tilbury scored just 36 seconds after Perrett, and
Mackenzie Couling added her first of the night at 7:41. Couling struck again late in the period with her second goal at 16:47, while
Reese Amick capped the period's scoring with a goal at 18:51, sending Jamestown to the locker room with a 6-0 lead.
UJ continued to press in the third period.
Reese Amick wasted no time, scoring her second goal of the game just 32 seconds into the final frame.
Gaby Schroder added an unassisted marker at 2:36 to make it 8-0.
After Minnesota broke the shutout with a goal from Kiley Wrzos at 6:47, the Jimmies responded with two more. Durand tallied her second goal of the game at 8:04, and Wielgosh rounded out the scoring with a goal at 11:57.
Wielgosh finished with a stellar four-point performance, recording one goal and three assists. Durand (2 goals, 1 assist),
Reese Amick (2 goals, 1 assist), and Couling (2 goals) also had multi-point outings.
The Jimmies controlled play throughout, outshooting Minnesota 51-12. Goaltender
Britlyn Rasmussen went the distance for the Jimmies, stopping 11 of 12 shots to earn the victory.
The teams finish their weekend series on Sunday at John L. Wilson Arena beginning at 12 p.m.
