JAMESTOWN, N.D.-- The University of Jamestown men's wrestling team hosted the Jimmie Open Sunday at Harold Newman Arena, with several wrestlers finding success on their home mat against a competitive field that included athletes from NDSU, Northern State, University of Mary, Minot State, MSU Moorhead, University of Sioux Falls, and Bismarck State College.

Leading the way for the Jimmies was Hayden Ramaeker (184) who took sixth place. Isaac Ronquillo (125) and Alvy Henderson (149) also secured multiple victories for UJ.
Ramaeker had a strong showing at 184, pinning Greg Fuher (BSC) in 3:23 and earning a 14-1 major decision victory against Payton Wayman of Minot State.
Ronquillo, wrestling at 125 pounds, picked up two dominant wins. He scored a first-period fall (1:24) over Owen Lindstrom of Bismarck State College and followed up with a 17-2 tech fall victory over Gabino Vargas of the University of Sioux Falls.
At 149 pounds, Alvy Henderson earned a hard-fought pair of wins. He pinned Ethan Wonser of Minot State late in their bout (6:11) and also gritted out an 8-6 decision over MSU's Robert Salehi.

125: Harley Hardison won by fall (0:45) in a match against teammate Zairyn Ramos-Semana.

133: Elijah Nose claimed a high-scoring 17-14 decision over Clay Gates of Northern State.

141: Kellan Larson registered a quick fall (1:21) against Krayle Stormer of Northern State.

157: William Cook earned a pin (3:41) over Roman Leifridt of Minot State.

165: Landon Day defeated Liam Hase of Bismarck State College by fall (2:42).

174: Colton Schaad started his day with a 4-0 decision victory over Mario Esposito of Minot State.
Mario Fernandez (125), Zairyn Ramos-Semana (125), Navarjo Escarcega (141), Ethan Holstein (149), Maddox Campbell (157), Rocker Aguilar (165), Pablo Garcia (165), Nolan Wilson (165), Dane Hartmann (184), Jesse Addington (197), and Aden Jorgenson (197) also competed for the Jimmies.
Jamestown will compete in the DWU Open next Saturday, hosted by Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D.
