JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown men's wrestling team hosted Minnesota State University Moorhead on Friday night at Harold Newman Arena, falling 36-10 in the dual meet.
Minnesota State University Moorhead struck first, opening the night with a technical fall at 125 pounds to take an early lead. The Jimmies quickly answered back at 133 pounds, where
Elijah Nose delivered a standout performance by pinning Brody Toledo at the 3:55 mark.
Following the pin, MSUM regained control and rattled off five consecutive victories through the middle weights. The run included a major decision at 141 pounds, a pin at 157 pounds, and a technical fall at 165 pounds. At 149 pounds,
Alvy Henderson battled in a high-scoring affair before dropping a competitive 16-12 decision to Parker Benz.
Kade Graves also put up a strong fight at 174 pounds but fell short in a 16-9 decision.
Hayden Ramaeker halted the visitors' momentum at 184 pounds. Ramaeker controlled his bout against Edon Davis, securing a 15-6 major decision to add four team points for Jamestown.
MSUM closed out the dual with a major decision at 197 pounds and a forfeit victory at heavyweight to finalize the 36-10 score.
The Jimmies will compete at the NCWA Northwest Conference Championships in Pullman, Wash., on Saturday, March 14.
