JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown Jimmies ACHA Division 1 women's hockey team fell 2-0 to the McKendree University Bearcats on Thursday evening at John L. Wilson Arena.

McKendree University's Alexandra Binning provided all the offense for the Bearcats, scoring one goal in the first period and another in the third. Binning's first goal, scored at the 7:25 mark of the first period, was unassisted and proved to be the game-winner. She added an insurance goal at 14:40 in the third period.

The Jimmies were unable to convert on their offensive opportunities, being held scoreless on 23 shots. The Bearcats finished with 31 shots overall.  Maddie Sylvestre made 29 saves before coming off the ice for an extra attacker with 2:19 remaining. Kasia Rakowski posted a shutout, stopping all 23 shots she faced for McKendree.

Both teams were disciplined, with each squad taking only one minor penalty for two minutes. McKendree's Charlotte Cloutier was called for tripping at 14:07 of the second period and UJ's Kiara Perrett was penalized for checking at 4:49 of the third period. Neither team converted on their single power-play opportunity.

The two teams return to the ice at John L. Wilson Arena on Friday afternoon with puck drop set for 3 p.m.
