JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The fifth-ranked Jimmie ACHA Division 1 men's hockey team lost a tough 3-2 game in overtime to No. 1 Minot State University Friday evening at John L. Wilson Arena.

Later in the first period, Minot State took a penalty and set up a power play opportunity for the Jimmies. At 11:19 of the first, Makse netted his second goal of the night, capitalizing on a one-timer from Kole Christensson along the far wall, which Makse skillfully redirected into the net. Brenden Vulcano also picked up an assist on the play.

The Jimmies entered the second period with a familiar 2-0 lead, mirroring last week's game, as they looked to protect the advantage and maintain momentum. However, at 4:36 of the second, Minot State got on the board to cut the deficit to 2-1. Later in the period,d at 16:02, they struck again, evening the score at 2-2.

With a scoreless third period, the Jimmies headed to overtime for the second time this season, aiming to capitalize on their speed in the open ice of 3-on-3 play. However, just 59 seconds in, they took a costly penalty, allowing Minot State to seize the opportunity and net the game-winning goal at 2:05, securing a 3-2 victory.
