GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Three runs by the Jimmies in the first inning ended up being enough as UJ took game one by a score of 4-2.
- Kayla Quintanilla drove in the first run of the inning with a single up the middle to score Trinity Gregg. After Abby Blair singled and Gracie Fisher was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Mackenzie Lefebvre delivered a two-run single right as the lead grew to 3-0.
- Quintanilla's sacrifice fly in the second inning scored Gregg to make it 4-0, and the Jimmies appeared to be in control.
- Hastings cut the lead in half with a pair of runs in the fourth. Elana Gerhard's ground-rule double scored Lauren Schneider, then a groundout by Macie Mays brought in Lexie Mudloff for the second run.
- Jamestown had the bases loaded with two outs in each of the fourth and fifth innings but left the runners stranded both times.
- Hope Ransome pitched a complete game, striking out four and giving up two runs on four hits as her record moved to 11-4.
- The Jimmies had 10 hits in the opener, with Gregg, Quintanilla, and Samarah Martinez each recording a pair. Gregg also swiped a pair of bases and scored twice.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- A three-run bottom of the first staked the Jimmies to an early lead. Samarah Martinez singled in Trinity Gregg, who began the inning with a triple. After Kayla Quintanilla's ground rule double moved Martinez to third, Abby Blair hit a rare two-run sacrifice fly to right field to add two more runs to UJ's tally.
- Blair, Gracie Fisher, and Maddie Spaeth each had RBI singles as the lead grew to 6-0 in the third. Gentrey Turin drew a bases-loaded walk to force in another run, then with two outs, Martinez singled to center and two more runs crossed the plate.
- The runs were more than enough support for Blair (9-6) in the circle, who allowed only a pair of first-inning singles while pitching a shutout.
- Hastings loaded the bases in the third with one out after an error, hit batter, and walk, but Lexie Mudloff lined into a 4-3 inning ending double play as the Jimmies escaped with the shutout intact.
- Martinez (3-for-3, 3 RBI, 2 R) and Quintanilla (2-for-3, 2 R) had multi-hit games. Blair also finished with three RBI.
