MELBOURNE & COCOA BEACH, Fla. – The University of Jamestown completed a perfect final day in the Sunshine State, moving their overall record to 19-4 with a pair of hard-fought victories. The Jimmies opened the day with a steady 7-3 win over Ursuline College, highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance from Trinity Gregg. In the nightcap, Jamestown showcased their "never-quit" attitude, erasing a three-run Walsh lead to secure a 4-3 victory. Across the two games, the Jimmie pitching staff surrendered only three earned runs, while the offense produced 18 hits to wrap up a dominant spring break performance.
Game 1: Jamestown 7, Ursuline College 3
The Jimmies continued its winning ways at the Space Coast Spring Games, securing a 7-3 victory over Ursuline College on Friday afternoon. The Jimmies utilized a balanced 11-hit attack and steady pitching to improve their record to 18-4 on the season.
Jamestown set the tone early, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Maddie Spaeth grounded out to drive in Trinity Gregg, who had led off the game with a single. This was Speath's 100th career RBI which now has her ranked 6th all-time. The lead grew to 2-0 in the third as Gregg delivered an RBI single to center field. Gregg remained a focal point of the offense throughout the day, finishing 4-for-4 with three RBIs and scoring the team's opening run.
The Jimmies extended their cushion in the fourth inning when Gregg came through again, lacing a two-out, two-RBI single to center that scored Abby Blair and Natalie Draper. After Ursuline cut the deficit to 4-2 in the fifth, Jamestown added an insurance run in the sixth when Kasydi Bennett scored on a heads-up play following a Gregg single. The Jimmies put the game away in the seventh as Sam Vasquez delivered a clutch pinch-hit, two-RBI single to center, scoring Draper and Spaeth.
In the circle, Abby Blair earned her sixth win of the season, pitching 6.0 innings and allowing just one earned run on three hits. Aubrey Quern pitched the final frame in relief to seal the victory.
Game 2: Jamestown 4, Walsh University 3
The Jimmies closed out a flawless stay at the Space Coast Spring Games on Friday night, overcoming an early deficit to defeat Walsh University 4-3. The victory secured a Friday doubleheader sweep and extended the Jimmies' impressive winning streak as they head back north with a 19-4 overall record.
Walsh appeared to be in control early, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning behind a two-RBI double from Lindsay Leeds. The Cavaliers extended their advantage to 3-0 in the second frame when Jenna Jaffee scored on a passed ball following a bases-loaded walk.
The Jimmies began their climb back in the fifth inning. After Amanda Burch ignited the rally with a leadoff single, Kasydi Bennett moved to third on a stolen base and a throwing error. Moments later, Sonya Rodgers reached on an error by the shortstop, allowing Bennett to cross the plate and cut the deficit to 3-1.
Jamestown's offense fully ignited in a decisive three-run sixth inning. Sydney Grendler doubled to center field and was replaced by pinch-runner Kate Geiszler, who promptly scored on a clutch RBI triple by Madelyn Webb. Webb then tied the game by scoring on a passed ball. The Jimmies seized the lead for good when Kylie Yanzuk drew a walk, advanced on consecutive passed balls, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Natalie Draper.
Aubrey Quern earned her sixth win of the season with a dominant relief appearance, tossing 3.0 hitless innings and striking out four. Hope Ransome entered in the seventh, retiring the side in order to secure her first save and preserve the sweep.

The games will be held at the MSU Softball Complex - The Diamond in Mankato, Minn., with start times scheduled for 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
