The 10th-ranked University of Jamestown women's hockey team rallied from two goals down in the second period, but a University of Minnesota score just before the second intermission ended up being the difference as the Jimmies lost 3-2 to the No. 13 Gophers Friday evening at John L. Wilson Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The game's first goal came at 3:11 of the first period as UM's Liliana Rohlf made it 1-0 on assists by Ruby Moss and Laramie Prell.
• Despite being outshot 11-3 in the first, Jamestown trailed just by one goal going into the second period.
• Delaney Johnson made it 2-0 in favor of the Gophers 26 seconds into the second period.
• After UM's Olivia Carlson was called for roughing, the Jimmies were able to capitalize on the power play as Annika Braun scored her eighth of the season at 8:15 of the second with assists by Gaby Schroder and Bethany Wielgosh.
• Mackenzie Couling tied the game at 13:43 with an assist from Jayden Baker. It was the second of the season for Couling and first in her last six games.
• With 10 seconds left in the second period, Minnesota retook the lead on Carlson's second of the year, set up by Katie Katzmarek and Delaney Johnson.
• Each team had a power play chance in the third period, but neither converted and the game ended 3-2 in favor of the visitors.
• Makenzie Gibson had 35 saves in net for the Jimmies.
