SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- The 12th-ranked University of Jamestown men's volleyball completed a sweep of their weekend matches, defeating Dordt (Iowa) 3-0 Saturday afternoon, after taking care of St. Ambrose (Iowa) in straight sets on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jamestown hit .458 for the match in a sweep of St. Ambrose, making just nine errors in 72 attempts. The Jimmies hit .346 in the opener, .545 in the second, and .500 in the third.
• UJ trailed at only one point in the match, when SAU took a 1-0 lead to start the second set.
• The Jimmies had eight service aces and six total blocks, compared to one ace and two total blocks for SAU.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Jimmies hit .394 in the first set with 16 kills on 33 attempts while holding Dordt to a .156 hitting percentage on 11 kills.
• Jamestown opened the second set with a 12-4 lead and led 19-12 late before the Defenders closed the gap, including a 5-1 run to make it 24-21, which forced a UJ timeout. Out of the timeout, Dordt made a service error to give the Jimmies a 2-0 match lead.
• Both teams hit well (Jamestown .370, Dordt .323) in the third set, but the Jimmies had separate runs of three and four straight points to pull away after the Defenders tied the score at 7-7.
• Six Dordt service errors helped UJ in the third set, as 23 of the Jimmies' 25 points came via kill or Defender miscue.
