MINOT, N.D.-- The 11th-ranked University of Jamestown women's hockey team took the first lead of the game against No. 4 Minot State University Friday afternoon, but the Beavers responded with four straight goals to take a 4-1 win in the first game of their weekend series at Maysa Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Jimmies struck first as Alyssa Lingen scored her third goal of the season, assisted by Sam Beaulac and Jaeda Clayton at 9:19 of the first period.
• Minot State evened the score 38 seconds later on a goal by Olivia Opheim, and the game remained 1-1 going into the second period.
• Mia McKee broke the tie with 5:25 left before the second intermission, then 1:11 into the third period, MSU extended their lead to 3-1 on a goal by Cameron Schmidt.
• McKee's second of the game came at 4:15 of the third, and the score finished 4-1.
• Jamestown was 0-for-6 on the power play while Minot State was 0-for-3.
• Shots were 27-25 in favor of Minot State. Makenzie Gibson made 23 stops for UJ.
