GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Like a top-40 radio station, the hits just kept on coming for Jamestown against the Comets.
• The Jimmies pounded out 16 hits in seven innings while hitting .471 as a team in taking an 11-1 win.
• Batting third in her first collegiate start, Amanda Burch went 3-for-4 and reached base four times, and leadoff hitter Trinity Gregg continued her hot start to the season, going 3-for-3 with a triple and an inside-the-park home run while scoring three times and driving in three more.
Gentrey Turin was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored hitting out of the ninth spot, while Kayla Quintanilla posted her second straight two-hit game.
• Gregg led off the contest with a triple to left field and came home on a sacrifice fly by Samarah Martinez. Burch reached on a two-out single, promptly swiped second base, then moved to third on a single by Quintanilla. The Jimmie base-running duo executed a delayed double steal to perfection. As Quintanilla slid safely into second, Burch made a break for home and beat the throw. Alertly, Quintanilla took an extra base on the attempt to throw out Burch at the plate.
• The Comets countered with a run in the bottom of the first, but Jamestown answered in their next time at bat. Camryn Schwab led off with a double, and one out later, Turin was hit by a pitch. With Gregg at bat, a wild pitch moved Schwab to third and Turin to second. Gregg hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Schwab to make it 3-1.
• Turin doubled with one out in the top of the fourth, and Gregg followed with the first-ever inside-the-bubble home run, extending UJ's lead to 5-1.
•The Jimmies broke the game open in the top of the sixth. Turin and Gregg pulled off another double steal, this time Turin scoring from third as Gregg stole second base. Martinez singled to score Gregg, who was at third after recording her second steal of the inning. Burch followed with a single of her own to put runners at the corners, and the next batter, Madeline Stangl, hit a sacrifice fly to left field which allowed Martinez to come home.
• Jamestown's final three runs came in the top of the seventh, two of them driven in by Natalie Draper's first collegiate hit. Draper later came around to score the 11th run for UJ.
• Making her first start as a Jimmie after five previous relief appearances, Bristol Foytik pitched a complete game to earn her first career win. She struck out five and allowed one run on five hits while not issuing a walk.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

• UJ's Abby Blair and UMary's Hannah Chambers each made it difficult for the opposition in Sunday's final game.
• Blair worked four scoreless innings and allowed only one hit and one walk, while Chambers put up zeroes on the scoreboard until the Jimmies broke through in the fifth for the game's only run.
Sonya Rodgers singled with one out, then Gentrey Turin came to bat in a sacrifice bunt situation. Marauder third baseman Sariah Perez fielded the ball but made a wild throw to first base. Rodgers, who had a running start from the beginning of the play, easily rounded second base and continued onto third as Turin made her way to second. Seeing nothing but daylight ahead of her, Rodgers made the final 60-foot sprint to home to score the go-ahead run.
Hope Ransome came on in relief of Blair in the fifth inning, retiring the Marauders in order in her first inning of work.
• The situation became dicey in the bottom of the sixth, as Perez and Janelle Bergman both singled to start the inning. After a groundout moved the runners to second and third, Ransome walked Keely Porter to load the bases. The next batter hit a grounder to Samarah Martinez at shortstop, and Martinez came home with the throw to force the lead runner. With the bases still loaded but now with two outs, Ransome got Jaraya Diaz to strike out swinging for the last out of the inning.
• Still holding on to a one-run lead in the last of the seventh, Ransome struck out the first two Marauder hitters swinging, and the final batter hit a ground ball to Turin, who threw over to first for the final out.
Kayla Quintanilla had two hits for the third straight game, but the Jimmies were held to a season-low five hits.

FOR THE FOES
• Mayville State's Megan Elliott was 2-for-3 and drove in her team's only run.
•.Chambers allowed an unearned run on five hits over seven innings, taking the hard-luck loss for the Marauders. Bergmann had two of UMary's three hits in the game.
