JAMESTOWN, N.D. — The fourteenth-ranked University of Jamestown women's hockey team returned to home ice for the first time in 19 days Friday evening, losing a close 2-1 game to No. 6 Minot State University at John L. Wilson Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bethany Wielgosh's power play goal at 5:28 of the first period put the Jimmies ahead 1-0. Jayden Baker and Sophia Banda assisted on the goal, which was the first power play goal of the season for Wielgosh and her second overall.
- Jimmie goaltender Katelyn Galuszka made her first home start between the pipes and stopped all eight shots she faced in the opening period.
- The Beavers tied the game 42 seconds into the second as Journey Miller scored her ninth goal of the year, which was assisted by Makena Welby.
- MSU broke the tie at 17:32 of the second with Olivia Opheim's third goal of the season, assisted by Liberty Miller.
- Neither team scored in the third period, and the only power play opportunity in the final 20 minutes came after Jamestown was whistled for a boarding penalty with 1:29 remaining.
- The Jimmies had a 35-32 lead in shots and tallied the game's lone power play goal.
- Galuszka stopped a career-high 30 shots while MSU goaltender Haylie Biever made 34 saves.
