DECORAH, Iowa – Rayanne Mutchler and Ann Marie Meiman had the top two finishes for the Jimmie women's wrestling team on Saturday at the Luther College Open.

Mutchler took third in the 235 pound weight class, finishing 2-2 on the day. She recorded pins of Fernanda Miranda (Joliet Junior College) in 1:29 and Destine'e Thomas (North Iowa Area CC) in 2:08.

Meiman finished fifth in the 138 pound weight class and won five of her six matches. After a pin of Emily Angelo (Iowa Central CC) and a 12-1 tech fall over Cieanna Ficken of Hawkeye CC, Meiman lost by 14-4 tech fall to Madeline Barton (Qunicy). Meiman came back with a pin of Mattie Papenthien (Dubuque), a 10-2 decision over Anna Strand (Wisconsin Stevens Point), and a pin of Emma Gruenhagen in 33 seconds in the fifth place match.

Abby Ewing (131) was the other Jimmies to record multiple victories, pinning both of her opponents in the first two matches. Jenna Baarson (117), Leah Willard (160), and Grace Todhunter (207) also had wins for Jamestown.

UJ is back in action on Friday, November 15, with a dual at University of Sioux Falls.
