DICKINSON, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's wrestling team dropped a 28-14 dual to Dickinson State University on Wednesday night at Scott Gymnasium.
Dickinson State built an early advantage, capitalizing on forfeits at 110 and 117 pounds following a double forfeit at 103. The Blue Hawks extended their lead with a pin at 124 pounds and a technical fall at 131 pounds.
Nora Houglum halted the run and put the Jimmies on the board at 138 pounds, earning a 6-2 decision victory over Kaytlin McAnelly.
Ann Marie Meiman followed with a dominant performance at 145 pounds, pinning Paisley Jaeger in 1:48 to cut into the deficit.
After Dickinson State picked up a forfeit victory at 160 pounds,
Emily Novak delivered an emphatic win for Jamestown at 180 pounds. Novak needed just 55 seconds to pin Bridgette Price.
The dual concluded at 207 pounds, where Dickinson State's Isabella Urias secured an 8-1 decision over
Celia Jaeger to finalize the 28-14 score.
UJ hosts a pair of duals on Saturday, February 21 at Harold Newman Arena. The Jimmies face Dickinson State at 2 p.m. followed by Bismarck State College at 3 p.m.
