Box Score The tenth-ranked Jimmie men's volleyball team remained unbeaten in GPAC play after defeating Dordt (Iowa) University in five sets Friday evening at Harold Newman Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A 7-0 stretch in the first set helped UJ build an eight-point lead (15-7), with Oguzhan Oguz at the service line for the final six points of the run.
- The Jimmies hit .611 (12 kills, 1 error) on 18 attempts while the Defenders hit .000 (6 kills, 6 errors) on 25 attempts.
- Down 6-3 in the second set, Dordt won six of the next seven points for a 9-7 lead, gradually building a 12-9 advantage.
- Jamestown rallied to tie the set at 13-13 on a kill by Caylor Cox, but the Defenders went on another 6-1 run to take the lead.
- Dordt had UJ on the ropes at 22-19 when the Jimmies struck for three in a row to draw level, but finished with three of the last four points to even the match.
- UJ found themselves down 11-8 in the third, but took a 12-11 lead after a kill from Downey Huynh.
- The Defenders had a brief 13-12 lead before Jamestown won six of the next seven points to go ahead 18-14.
- The Jimmies had their lead cut to 23-22 after an Andres Guzman kill, but finished with the final two points to take a 2-1 match lead.
- Dordt was the aggressor on offense in the fourth set, outhitting Jamestown .302 to .128 with 19 kills to UJ's 13.
- Neither team led by more than three points after the Defenders finished a 4-0 run for a 19-16 lead.
- Guzman had Dordt at set point following a kill to make it 24-22, then a kill by Huynh and a Defender attack error tied the score.
- The teams traded points unitl a Jimmie attack error and a Caleb Kulesza kill gave Dordt the winning points.
- UJ did not make a hitting error in the fifth set, hitting .522 in the frame with 12 kills on 23 attempts.
- Dordt trailed by no fewer than two points in the set, getting as close as 13-12 and 14-13 before Cox clinched the match with his fourth kill of the frame.
JAMESTOWN GAME NOTES
- Huynh had a career night for UJ, finishing with 24 kills while hitting .543 on 35 attempts.
- Oguz had a season-high 20 kills and Cox posted a double-double of 16 kills and 18 digs.
- Derek Correa set a new Jimmie record with 57 assists and had a career-best 16 digs.
- Adam Lopata added a career-high 18 digs to go along with four assists.
DORDT GAME NOTES
- Kulesza led the Defenders with 17 kills, followed by Brady Frost with 14 and Guzman with 13.
- Lukas Van Groningen passed out 45 assists.
- Robert Piekarz racked up a match-high 21 digs.
