The 15th-ranked Illinois State University Redbirds scored in the final 95 seconds and held on for a 3-2 win over the No. 7 University of Jamestown ACHA Division 1 men's hockey team Friday evening at John L. Wilson Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jamestown got on the board first as Jake Huculak scored at the 1:20 mark on an assist by Reid Wilson.
- Pavel Bakhtin made it 1-1 at 1:30 of the second period, with Jackson Gram and Andreas Zorn assisting on the goal.
- Ethan Chesney gave Illinois State a 2-1 lead with his goal at 6:07 of the third, assisted by Tony Campise.
- UJ tied the game just over nine minutes later, with Kole Christensson scoring from Alek Erichuk and Brad Fortin.
- Erichuk went off for tripping at 17:42 of the third, with Philippe Lessard joining him in the box at 18:08 following a roughing penalty.
- With the 5-on-3 advantage, Campise scored the go-ahead and eventual game-winner at 18:25 on assists from Mitchell Oberlag and Will Tricario.
