Jimmie grapplers in action at GPAC Duals, Tyler Plummer Open

The Jimmie men's wrestling team covered two competitions on Saturday, concluding their conference dual schedule at the GPAC Duals in Sioux City, Iowa, while also sending a contingent to the Tyler Plummer Open in Dickinson, N.D.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The fourth-ranked Tigers won all eight contested matches against the Jimmies, who also had open weights at 157 and 165 pounds.
  • Tommy Beringer and Ian Howell both had pins for UJ against Concordia (Neb.) Beringer pinned Jeaven Scdoris in 2:18 at 149 while at 285, Howell stuck Cy Renney in 1:18.
  • Austin Morris went 2-3 to finish sixth at the Tyler Plummer Open in Dickinson.
  • Morris, wrestling at 184 pounds, won by pin and a 14-6 major decision in his first two matches. After being pinned by Tyson Lien in the semifinals, Morris was a medical forefit in his final two matches to end up sixth.
  • Aden Jorgensen joined Morris with multiple wins on Saturday. Jorgensen won both of his matches by pin at 285.

UP NEXT

  • The Jimmies host their final home dual of the season on Wednesday, February 1 against Concordia-Moorhead.
  • UJ's Senior Night will begin at 7 p.m. from Harold Newman Arena.
