MARION, Iowa-- Izzy Marchino (SR/Highlands Ranch, Colo.) shot an 8-over 80, tied for first, and the University of Jamestown women's golf team is in first place after the opening round of the Klocke Family Classic at the par-72, 5807-yard Hunters Ridge Golf Course.
Marchino is tied with Amanda Karvalla of Waldorf University at 8-over 80, one shot ahead of St. Ambrose's Maitlyn Sanders.
UJ's team score of 49-over 337 is one shot ahead of Mount Mercy and two shots ahead of St. Ambrose.
Jayme Carlson (JR/Hartford, S.D.) is tied for eighth at 12-over 84, followed by Faith Justesen (SO/Hawley, Minn.) at 13-over 85, which has her tied for 10th.
Kyra Vogel (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) is in 13th at 16-over 88, and Haley Malone (JR/Moorhead, Minn.) is tied for 14th at 17-over 89.
Teagan Fee (JR/Havre, Mont.) and Coley Olson (SO/Cook, Minn.), playing as individuals, are tied for 19th at 21-over 93.
The tournament concludes Sunday at 9 a.m.
