Jimmies notch first win

The University of Jamestown softball earned its first win of the season on Saturday in Arizona.

Autumn Wang clubbed a two-run home run to lead the Jimmies' 11-hit attack in a 6-5 win over Purdue-North Central (Ind.) in Tucson, Ariz.

The Jimmies played two more games on Sunday. They defeated Nyack College, N.Y., 12-3 and Dakota Wesleyan 11-1 to improve to 3-4 overall. Additional results were not available at press time.

On Saturday, the Jimmies scored three runs in the bottom of the first and three more in the bottom of the third and then held on 6-5.

Jessica Snow and Rylee Perez each had two hits, a double and an RBI. Hanna Dunnigan added an RBI triple.

Brittany Rheault went the first four innings in the circle, allowing four unearned runs with six strikeouts to get the win. Dunnigan worked the final three frames to earn the save. She also had six strikeouts.
