Jimmies post sweep

Strong pitching carried the Jimmies to a sweep on Tuesday in Tucson, Ariz.

The University of Jamestown improved to 6-6 on the season by beating Concordia, Neb., 6-2 and Viterbo, Wis., 5-0.

Today, the Jimmies face Dordt, Iowa, and Baldwin-Wallace, Ohio.

Brittany Rheault went all seven in the circle in the opener for the Jimmies.

The freshman from West Fargo allowed just one earned run on eight hits with four strikeouts.

Rylee Perez went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a double. Emma Keller also had three hits and scored twice. Emily Newman and Sydney Jeffers each had two hits.

UJ 5, Viterbo 0

Hanna Dunnigan and Rheault combined on a three-hit shutout in the nightcap.

Dunnigan allowed two hits over five innings with six strikeouts. Rheault fanned three over the final two innings.

Brook Rheault, Brittany's older sister, had three hits. Perez had two more and an RBI and Autumn Wang connected for her third home run of the season.
