MADISON, S.D.-- Samantha VanHeuveln (SR/Danvers, Minn.) closed out her NSAA career in style by taking first place honors in the 2015 North Star Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
With the win, VanHeuveln qualifies for the 2015 NAIA National Cross Country Meet, to be held November 21 in Charlotte, N.C. It is the third time the UJ star runner has made the trip to nationals.
VanHeuveln's time of 19:25.04 was almost 30 seconds faster than runner up Austyn Copp of Dickinson State.
Dickinson State won the team title with a score of 42, seven points ahead of the second place Jimmies.
