Valley City swept the Jimmies in Jamestown to move into first place in the North Star Athletic Association.
VCSU improves to 8-2 NSAA, while Jamestown drops to 4-2.
Jamestown will play Dakota State in Madison, SD, for two NSAA games on Friday and two more NSAA conference matchups on Saturday.

The Jimmies dropped to 15-14 overall with the game 1 loss, while VCSU improved to 18-15.
For Valley City in game one, Samantha Nalley picked up her sixth pitching win of the season with a complete game, allowing no walks and just four hits, while striking out 8 Jimmies.
Liz Hall Sewell hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth to tie the score at 1, plating Shayna Taffinder.
In the 7th, the Vikings Mackenzie Hamrie singled to right, driving in Cejay Hilhorst with the go ahead run.
Jamestown scored its lone run in the first as Courtney Van Den Bussche bunted and reached second on a wild throw.
Sarah Money then singled to center to give the Jimmies a quick one run in the bottom of the first.
Emily Snow was the hard luck loser with 6 K in 7 IP, while allowing just 6 hits.

In game two, the Viking ship cruised into first place in the NSAA by knocking the Jimmies off their horse with a sweep.
VCSU is now 8-2 and in first place, while Jamestown drops to second place with a 4-2 mark.
On April 8, Jamestown swept the Vikings in Valley City -
so VCSU and UJ are 2-2 against each other in NSAA action - and 8-0 combined against the rest of the NSAA.
Jimmie softball also beat Valley City on February 25 by a 7-2 score in a non-conference game at the St. Paul dome.

Game 2 saw VCSU jump ahead with a four run first.
Brittany Lehner had a bases clearing double for the big blow.
Cejay Hilhorst, who scored the winning run in game one, blasted a 3 run HR in the top of the fourth.
Ashley Metcalf picked up her fifth win of the year for the Vikings on the mound.
Autumn Wang had 2 RBI for the Jimmies, while Mandy Thiessen had three scoreless innings in relief for the Jimmies.
