Jamestown College's D.J. Johnson earned top honors in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) this week, as Johnson has been named Female Athlete of the Week.
Johnson, a junior pitcher on the Jamestown College softball team from Missoula, Mont., went 3-0 on the week in the circle to help propel the Jimmies into the A.I.I conference tournament. She worked 20 innings with a 2.80 ERA giving up 19 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 11 to improve to 11-2 on the season.

Jamestown College softball player Kate Johnson recently set a pair of school records for the Jimmies.
The slugging junior first baseman from Victoria, B.C. set a new school record with 8 RBIs in the Jimmies' 13-8 win over Great Falls, Mont. on April 14. Johnson also hit a pair of home runs and went 4-for-5.
The single game school-record performance came in the midst of a 22-game hit streak, which is also a new Jimmie record mark.
During Johnson's streak, which lasted from March 28 to April 22, she batted .551 (38-for-69) with nine doubles, eight home runs and 40 RBIs.
Johnson currently ranks 17th in the NAIA with 54 RBIs
