Jamestown, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team will look for their second straight home win as they host the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons on Friday.

The Teams
Jamestown enters Friday's game with a record of 2-4-1 and 2-2 in the conference. With six points, the Jimmies are in sole possession of eighth place in the NSIC. Their most recent match was a 2-1 comeback victory over St. Cloud State last Sunday. The Jimmies conceded in the 14
th minute, but
Julliet Lopez notched a goal the next minute to tie it up. The game remained 1-1 until
Vega Canada got a goal with 4:02 left to play in the second half as UJ got their first home win of the season and a crucial three points in the conference standings.
Lopez is now in a tie for fifth place in the NSIC with three goals with the sophomore now scoring three times in the last four games.
Bre Oettle has two goals and an assist while
Vega Canada, Jamestown's leading scorer last season, got her first points last game with her game-winning goal.
Taylor Musser has started six of seven games in between the pipes, owning a .769 save percentage and a 2.19 goals-against average with the freshman getting her first career win against the Huskies last game.
The Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons come into today's game with a record of 2-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the Northern Sun which puts them in a tie for 10
th place in the conference standings. In NSIC play, the Dragons have a win over Wayne State College, a draw to the University of Sioux Falls, and losses to Augustana University and Southwest Minnesota State University.
Most recently against the Mustangs, the first half was scoreless, but SMSU tallied two goals two minutes apart from each other in the 70
th and 72
nd minutes as Dragons fell at home. Moorhead won total shots 19-12, but the Mustangs had one more shot on net (7-6). In net, Emilia Bukholt Kristensen made five saves while being tested seven times.
The Dragons have looked quite a bit better than last season in which they finished 14
th in the conference with a 2-13 NSIC record an a 3-14-1 mark overall. The Dragons were picked last in the conference this year in the NSIC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll.
Sophie Thompson has scored two of the five Dragon goals while also notching an assist. Mary Cox has one goal and an assist. The best player so far for Moorhead has been backstop Bukholt Kristensen. Already named NSIC Goaltender of the Week once before, the sophomore from Denmark has played every single minute of every game thus far, leading the conference with 7.7 saves per game, posting a save percentage of .844, and a 1.43 goals-against average to go along with two clean sheets.
Last Time Out
The Jimmies and Dragons clashed last season towards the beginning of the conference schedule. Moorhead scored in the ninth minute, but
Bailey Fox got UJ on the board with a tally in the 59
th minute. However, Moorhead broke the 1-1 tie in the 71
st minute and went on to win by the same 2-1 score. Total shots in the contest were 23-14 in favor of the Dragons while shots on net were 15-8.

Nick Becker has played the Dragons on one other occasion back in 2013, this being a 2-1 win in Jamestown.
