The Teams
 
The Jimmies enter Saturday's clash at 0-3 and 0-2 in the NSIC following a 28-0 loss at the hands of Winona State University on the road last Saturday. Against the Warriors, quarterback Jacob Mattick had 10 completions for 49 yards. Mason Whitley rushed 14 times for 63 yards and Gage Solano hauled in four catches for 31 yards. Jack Young had four tackles and two sacks while Tristan Huse led UJ in tackles with seven. Jamestown only had eight first downs in the game while Winona State got 21. The Jimmies also struggled late in downs, going 1-for-13 on third down conversions and they were outpaced 364 to 174 in total yards.
 
Mattick paces Jamestown in season passing yards with 139 on 21 completions. Whitley leads the Jimmies in rushing yards so far with 191 on 40 carries (4.8 yards/carry) and has also accounted for both of the UJ touchdowns on the season. Runningback Andres Bonilla has also been effective in his action with 11 carries for 68 total yards. Gage Solano has 72 receiving yards on 11 catches, both of which top the team. Josh Bosacker is the center of the Jamestown defense, averaging seven tackles per game, and 3.5 total tackles for a loss in yardage.
 
(RV) Wayne State comes into today's game with a 2-1 record and 1-1 in the NSIC. All three of their games have been one-score contests with a 21-20 win over the University of Nebraska Kearney, a 35-28 win at Minot State, and a 20-13 loss to No. 15 University of Minnesota Duluth in their home opener last Saturday. When WSC played Duluth, both teams had a touchdown in the first quarter, but then the Bulldogs scored 13 unanswered points to pull ahead 20-7. The Wildcats did not score until Dane Peterson caught an 8-yard pass for a touchdown with 34 seconds left on the timer. Wayne State missed the extra point, and the onside kick did not result in success with Duluth walking away with the seven-point win.  
 
Against the Bulldogs, quarterback Brady McGill was 19-for-36 with 217 yards and two touchdowns. Dawson Forgy led the rushing with 19 carries for 84 yards. Keaton Bonderson had five catches for 97 yards plus a score while Peterson had the other receiving touchdown late-game. Clyde Hinton paced the defense for WSC with 12 tackles and a sack. The Wildcats held a total yards advantage 321 to 287 over the Bulldogs, also converting one more first down. Duluth had a slight edge in time of possession at 31:39 to WSC's 28:21.
 
Wayne State is coming off a fantastic 2025 campaign in which they went 7-4 overall and 7-3 in the NSIC. They took down both No. 9 Minnesota State University and No. 13 Augustana University to finish in a tie for first in the NSIC South Division. Forgy was named the Preseason NSIC South Division Offensive Player of the Year with the fifth year running back setting numerous school records last season, including 1400 rushing yards which ranked 3^rd in Division-II football. So far this year, Forgy has 363 rushing yards (121 per game), and four touchdowns, both of which are top four in the conference. McGill has been highly efficient at QB as well with an average of 171.3 passing yards per contest and four touchdowns. Peterson leads the Wildcats with two receiving touchdowns while Bonderson is the preferred deep-field target with 11 catches for 217 yards and a touchdown. Defensive back Clyde Hinton has been one of the top players in the NSIC with his 25 total tackles being third in the conference, and five tackles for a loss ranking second. The Wildcats allow just 119 passing yards per game, only trailing Winona State in that category.
 
Jamestown did not play WSC in their first year in the NSIC last season. There has not been a recorded time in which the Jimmies and Wildcats have met in football before.

After the Wildcats, the Jimmies will return to Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium for a home matchup against Concordia University St. Paul on Saturday, September 26 at 1 p.m.
