St. Paul, Minn. - The University of Jamestown women's soccer team will look for another successful game as they play against the Concordia St. Paul Bears on Sunday, September 13.

The Teams
 
The Jimmies head into the matchup with the Bears at 1-2-1 and 1-0-0 in the NSIC after they beat Winona State in a road contest Friday. Jamestown trailed the Warriors 1-0 at the half, but Breanna Oettle got UJ on the board in the 69^th minute to tie the game, then Julliet Lopez scored her first-career goal in the 79^th minute as UJ got into the win column in their NSIC opener.
 
Oettle now leads the team with two goals while Julliet Lopez has one. Bailey Fox and Gaby Lopez have one helper each.
 
Concordia St. Paul is expected to be a much better opponent than Winona State, with the Bears undefeated at 1-0-3. Their non-conference schedule resulted in draws to Ferris State University and the University of Wisconsin Parkside, followed by a 4-0 win at Roosevelt. In CSP's NSIC opener, the Bears drew with Northern State University 1-1. Lexi Pettit scored for CSP in the 19^th minute, but the Wolves tied it up in the 61^st minute. Bears goaltender Sydney Potter made just one save for the Bears with shots on goal won by Concordia 6-2.

The Bears are coming off a season in which they were one of the best teams in the NSIC, finishing fifth in the conference with a 9-3-3 league record and a 12-3-5 overall mark in 2025 as they made an appearance in the NSIC semifinals. CSP has even higher expectations this season after being picked second in the NSIC Coaches Preseason Poll, receiving three first-place votes.
 
Sophia Haase is offensive powerhouse for CSP. The senior midfielder was named the conference Preseason Offensive Player of the Year after potting 10 goals and two assists in 2025. Hasse is tied for second in the conference and accounts for half the team's goals so far with three. Maddison Balashaitis and Sienna Latta each have two assists. Potter has played every minute in net for the Bears and has looked extremely sharp. The netminder is third in the NSIC in goals-against average (.5), fourth in save percentage (.867), and has two clean sheets as well.
 
Last Time Out
 
The Jimmies and Bears collided in NSIC play at Charlotte Gordon and Hansen Stadium last season for their first matchup in women's soccer in over 20 years. CSP scored three times in the first half, but UJ held them scoreless in the second half, while breaking up the shutout with a goal by Langley Grow in the 69^th minute. In their 3-1 win in Jamestown, the Bears outshot the Jimmies 13-5, including 7-2 shots on goal.

Following the Sunday clash with the Bears, the Jimmies will at long last have their home opener on Friday, September 18 at Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium against the Minnesota State Mavericks at 3 p.m.
