JAMESTOWN, N.D. — University of Jamestown head football coach Tom Dosch announced the hiring of Tyler Wilson as its new Special Teams Coordinator.

"I am happy to announce the hiring of Tyler Wilson to the UJ football staff as our Special Teams Coordinator," said Dosch. "Coach Wilson brings positive energy, tremendous football knowledge and valuable NCAA Division II experience to our program. In addition to being a passionate coach, he has shown to be a tireless recruiter with experience covering many regions throughout the country. This hire allows us to make internal staff moves which will allow us to maximize our coaches' strengths to provide our student-athletes the best possible experience. We are excited to welcome Tyler and his wife, Litzy, to the University of Jamestown, Jimmie Football, and the Jamestown and surrounding communities."

Wilson joins the Jimmies after most recently serving as the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at Quincy University, a role he held beginning in March 2025. While coordinating special teams at Quincy, Wilson oversaw an increase in the team's kickoff return average and punt net average, while also improving the kickoff defense to hold opponents to fewer yards per return. Prior to that, he served as Quincy's defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator from March 2024 to March 2025.

Before his recent tenure at Quincy, Wilson coached at Allegheny College as an outside linebackers coach and later a defensive backs Coach between March 2023 and March 2024. Wilson initially began his collegiate coaching career at Quincy University, working as a corners coach from July 2021 to July 2022, and as a linebackers coach through March 2023. As a corners coach, he contributed to a defensive unit that led Division II in takeaways. Throughout his coaching career,
Wilson has also proven to be an active recruiter across multiple states, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Texas, and the Carolinas.

Wilson was a four-year varsity football team member at Guilford College from 2017 to  2021. Competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, he played as a safety, corner, and special teams contributor.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science, with a minor in Sports Administration, from Guilford College in May 2021. He graduated with a 3.96 GPA and was recognized as a four-time ODAC All-Academic Team member. He later earned his Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Quincy University in May 2023.
