Jamestown, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's volleyball team is back at Harold Newman Arena for Parents Weekend as they host Augustana University on Friday and No. 2 Wayne State College on Saturday.

The Teams
After back-to-back road wins against Minot State University and the University of Mary, the Jimmies sit at 12-3 overall and in a share of fifth place in the conference at 5-2 in the NSIC.
Against UMary, both teams split the first two sets with Jamestown winning 25-16 in set one, but the Marauders claiming victory in set two 25-18. After falling behind early in the third set, Jamestown recovered to win 25-18, then sealed the match with another 25-18 win the fourth set.
Charlotte Lempka posted 13 kills against the Marauders while attacking .458 (13-2-24) and
Gracie Adamson had her third-straight double-double with 11 kills and 16 digs. Schopp paced the Jimmies with four blocks, and
Ava Bertsch led the Jamestown setting with 25 assists. On the day, Jamestown attacked .290 (55-17-131) which turned out to be their second-best mark in NSIC play.
On the season, Adamson ranks eighth in the NSIC in both kills per set (3.44) and digs per set (3.67). After Lempka's big night against UMary, the senior from Alexandria, Minn. is now attacking .340 (122-37-250), placing her 11
th in the conference. Schopp,
Caroline Puetz, and Lempka are all inside the top 12 of the conference in blocks per set with Schopp averaging 1.1 in a tie for second across Northern Sun players. Puetz is only behind Adamson and Lempka on UJ with an average of 2.04 kills per set.
Sophie Ketterling ranks fifth in Division-II volleyball and first in the NSIC with 5.61 digs per set and Bertsch leads Jamestown with an average of 5.82 assists per set.
After holding the Marauders to just a .155 attacking percentage in front of their home crowd, the Jimmies opponent hitting percentage on the season ranks second in the NSIC with a .157 mark. Jamestown is second in the conference in blocks per set (2.18) and first in digs per set (17.67).
Augustana comes into this weekend with a 9-6 overall record and a 3-4 conference record to sit in a share of ninth place in the conference. The Vikings have had a rough schedule to begin NSIC play will all four losses to ranked teams.
Most recently, Augie reverse swept Sioux Falls on the road in their rivalry game. The Vikings began the match with 25-20 and 25-21 set losses, then beat the Cougars 25-19, 25-22, and 15-10 in the final three sets.
Lucy Belisle led Augie with a season-high 16 kills and a .419 attacking percentage (16-3-31) while Reagan Jansen finished with 12 kills, three aces, nine digs, and four blocks. Kiylah Franke collected 47 assists and 14 digs and Alexis Nelson had 14 digs as well.
The Vikings slightly outattacked the Cougars, winning that battle .231 (63-24-169) to .210 (58-24-162). Augie also won 67-63 in digs and 10-4 in aces.
Augustana is coming off a season in which they went 14-14 overall with an 8-12 mark in the NSIC. They finished in 10
th place in the NSIC conference and were selected to slightly improve at ninth in the 2026 NSIC Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Augie has an extremely balanced attack with four players averaging at least 2.3 kills per set. This is led by Jansen with an average of 3.05 per set who is also the best on the team with three digs per set. Both Abby Gruber and Maya Wente are both among the top attackers in the conference thus far. Gruber has attacked .394 (140-21-302) for third in the conference while Wente is 13
th at .333 (157-44-339). Wente is the team leader with .96 blocks per set while Kiylah Franke controls the Vikings setting with 8.71 assists per set, ranking seventh in the NSIC.
Augie has some pretty strong offensive numbers despite its sub .500 conference record. The Vikings rank third in the conference in kills per set (14.16) as well as assists per set (13.48) to go along with a .257 attacking percentage.
The No. 2 Wayne State Wildcats will be by far the toughest opponent the Jimmies have faced so far, starting 15-1 overall with a 7-0 conference schedule as well as nine straight wins. They are tied with Minnesota Duluth as the only undefeated teams in NSIC play. WSC will have the Jimmies travel partner, Northern State, on Friday before making the 100-mile trek north to play at Harold Newman the next day.
The Wildcats have five ranked wins and four top-10 wins, including No. 8 St. Cloud State and No. 5 Concordia St. Paul in NSIC play action. Their only loss so far has been in three sets to Ferris State who is currently ranked as the No. 1 team in the land.
In their last match, WSC had an impressive road sweep over No. 11 Southwest Minnesota State University, winning the sets 25-20, 25-21, and 26-24. Delaney Miller led the Wildcats with 11 kills and Mia Berg had only seven kills but recorded that number on just 10 total swings for a .700 attacking percentage (7-0-10). Molly Romano posted a double-double with 35 assists and 10 digs and Reese Johnson recorded a team-best 13 digs.
As a team, Wayne State hit .231 (37-12-108) while forcing SMSU into 21 attacking errors and a .140 attacking percentage (39-21-129). Nine WSC blocks as well as 11 Mustang service errors helped the Wildcats in a big way as well.
Last season, the Wildcats finished at 27-5 and 19-1 in the NSIC. They shared the Northern Sun regular season crown with CSP but were upset by third-seeded St. Cloud State in the NSIC semifinal round. The Wildcats earned an at-large berth into the NCAA tournament and got the No. 3 seed in the Central Region, but were swept by Washburn University in the opening round. The final AVCA coaches poll put the Wildcats 10
th in the country. Wayne State was selected to finish only behind CSP in the 2026 NSIC Preseason Poll, collecting three of 16 first-place votes.
Miller is the Wildcats' kills leader with 3.32 per set and 176 kills overall. Berg leads the team in attacking percentage at .389 (119-24-244) with this number putting the transfer from Nebraska-Kearney fourth in the NSIC. Channatee Robles averages 2.52 kills per set and has a 20-20 game under her belt when she posted 22 kills and 23 digs against No. 5 Concordia St. Paul (9/19), getting herself NSIC Offensive Player of the Week. Romano is fifth in the conference with an average of 10.3 assists per set, Chloe Hanel is fourth with 1.06 blocks per set and Anna Bomer leads the backline defense for the Wildcats, pitching in 3.59 digs per set.
WSC ranks top five in the NSIC in just about every team category. Their most impressive numbers are 16.19 digs per set, 2.13 blocks per set, and a .288 attacking percentage with the latter two both ranking third in the league.
Historical Matchups
Jamestown and Augie clashed down in Sioux Falls last season in what was the final match of 2025 for both teams. After splitting the first four sets, the Jimmies downed the Vikings 15-10 in the final set to conclude their season in thrilling fashion.
Adamson led the Jimmies with 18 kills while
Addison Brooke logged nine kills plus four blocks. Ketterling had a season-high and what was then a career-high 25 digs.
Momoka Minamiya contributed 15 digs while Bertsch collected 23 set assists. The Jimmies had a noticeably higher hitting percentage at .186 (58-25-177) to Augie's .096 (51-34-177).
In the first-ever matchup between Wayne State and Jamestown back in 2025, the then-No. 5 Wildcats took down UJ in straight sets in Nebraska. Despite a daunting task for the Jimmies, they were highly competitive in two of the three sets, dropping 25-20, 25-11, and 25-21.
Adamson paced the team with 10 kills on .292 attacking (10-3-24), while
Mya Foslien posted eight kills and six digs. Both Puetz and Schopp collected four blocks while Ketterling had 20 digs and Bertsch 14 assists. Wayne State was an efficient .288 attacking in the contest (48-12-125) while Jamestown was just at .145 (34-17-117).
